The department integrates Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Artificial Intelligence, Geo-informatics, Virtual Reality, Building Information Modelling, Sustainable Development, and Ecological Conservation to form unique course structure. The objective of teaching is to foster students to become leading engineers with correct attitude in developing our society and conserving natural ecosystem.
Cross-strait academic exchange is also emphasized by the department due to the geographical location of the university. With years of interaction, Fuzhou University and Xiamen Institute of Technology have become partners of the department. Students with ambition to explore the civil engineering industry in China, this department would be an ideal place to study.
The department has signed MOU with Mechanics Institute of Moscow University, Russia. We agree on frequent student exchange and close academic relationship such that in 2016, selected 8 students had completed study at Moscow University for 5 weeks.
This department has been accredited by Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET) with fulfilling Washington, Soul, and Sydney Accords. The degree and grade granted by the department are accepted internationally. This is a stepping stone for students who have ambition to work or study abroad.
